Chapter 74 - Pokemon Virus!

Rize is now on route 38 having a street battle with other trainer he met on the street.
Gary: Gligar let's go!

Rize checked his Pokedex about Gligar.

" Gligar the Flyscorpion Pokemon. It is a Ground and Flying type. It usually clings to cliffs. When it spots its prey, it spreads its wings and glides down to attack. "

Rize: So it's a Ground and Flying type! Pretty unique typing Pokemon! Finally I get the chance to test this Pokemon! Heracross go!
Gary: Gligar use Poison Sting!
Rize: What?! It can use Poison attacks! Heracross dodge and use Horn Attack!
Heracross dodged the Poison Sting attack but ignored Rize command and idling around.
Gary: Hey! What was that?! Is that Pokemon even ready to battle?!
Rize: Come on Heracross what are you doing? You're having a battle!
Heracross become angry and attacked Rize instead!
Rize: Woaahh!! Heracross back into your Pokeball!!
Gary: I count this as a victory! You can't even train your Pokemon! You're weak! I'm outta here!
Rize: What?! Come back here! I'll use my other Pokemon!
Gary ignored Rize and kept going. Rize then continued his journey and found a Miltank Farm.
Rize: Cool! Miltank Farm! (Rize checked his Pokedex)

" Milktank the Milk Cow Pokemon. It is a Normal type. Its milk is packed with nutrition, making it the ultimate beverage for the sick and weary. "

Milk Man: Hey boy! Come to our Moo Moo House! Your Pokemon will love our fresh product of Moo Moo Milk!
Just when Rize Pokemon is about to drink their Moo Moo Milks for all his Pokemon however..
Man: Hey you have to be responsible for this! My Pokemon is sick after drinking your Moo Moo Milk product!
Milk Man: What? How can that be?! My Moo Moo Milk promotes good health to Pokemon!
Milk Worker: Sir! We have a trouble! All our Milktank suddenly became ill! They're all sick now!
Milk Man: What?! But our products have been sold and send to the market just now! This is bad! If all Pokemon that drink our milk become sick my business will go bankrupt!!
Rize: Hey all of you! You hear that?! Don't drink the Moo Moo Milk!
All of Rize Pokemon listened to him but Heracross ignored it and drink the Moo Moo Milk.
Rize: Oh no!! Why you never listen to me?!
Heracross immediately become ill and fall sick.
Rize: Oh no! I gotta rush to Olivine City's Pokemon Centre!
Rize hurried to Olivine City's Pokemon Centre but it looks like the Pokemon Centre is full of other people with their Pokemon who have fallen sick as well. They all drank the Moo Moo Milk product from the Moo Moo Farm Factory.
Rize: Please cure my Heracross! Please!
Jasmine: Ampharos is sick! This is trouble as Ampharos is in charge of lighting the Lighthouse! If the Lighthouse can't lit the light Ships coming to Olivine City will crush to the rocks!!

Nurse: Everyone please calm down! This is a new Virus and we are still looking for a way to kill this Virus but we promise we will give our best to get your Pokemon back to health again!
Jasmine: Amphy can't wait for that! The Traditional Herb Specialist must be able to cure this disease!
Rize: Where is that Traditional Herb Specialist? I will go there as long as all these Pokemon can be cured!
Jasmine: You want to go there?! I also want to go but I can't leave Amphy alone.. The Traditional Herb Specialist lives in Cianwood Island to the South-West from here crossing the Sea. I'll take an eye for your Heracross while you go there!
Rize: Okay! Heracross please hang on! I'll bring the herbs to cure you!
Jasmine: It will take too long if you take the ship. Take my Skarmory and fly to Cianwood Island!

Rize is now going to Cianwood Island from Olivine City with the borrowed Skarmory. Will the herbs be able to cure the disease? Find out on the next chapter!

Chapter 73 - Yin Strikes Back!

On the last chapter Rize and Schumi met in the the Burned Tower and met with Morty and  Eusine. Now Rize and Schumi are going to leave Ecruteak City but Morty and Eusine are staying at the Burned Tower. Just when Rize and Schumi came out from the Burned Tower, an unexpected rival show up and challenged Rize for a rematch.
Yin: At last I found you! This time I'm going to crush you!
Schumi: Who's this brat?
Rize: He's a new trainer, I met him when I first came to Johto in Prof.Elm's lab when he first pick his starter Pokemon.
Yin: Who do you think you are calling me brat?! I have things to settle with this bastard!
Rize: Who are you calling a bastard?! Watch your manner kid! Let's settle this once and for all then!
Schumi: I'll see how good is this brat then..
Yin: Croconaw crush them!

" Croconaw the Big Jaw Pokemon and the evolved form of Totodile. Once it bites down, it won't let go until it loses its fangs. New fangs quickly grow into place. "

Rize: So your Totodile has evolved.. Marshtomp let's beat them again!
Yin: Croconaw use Slash attack!
Rize: Marshtomp Rock Smash!
Marshtomp and Croconaw go head to head with their physical attacks but even tough Marsthomp's power is greater, Marshtomp appear to be having difficulties in keeping up with Croconaw's speed and Croconaw landed more hits than Marshtomp.
Yin: Croconaw Aqua Tail!
Croconaw hit Marshtomp with Aqua Tail.
Rize: He may be faster but we have greater defense! Marshtomp use Ice Beam to stop its movement!
Yin: Croconaw dodge and use Ice Fang!
Croconaw dodged Marshtomp's Ice Beam and biten Marshtomp's left arm and froze it.
Rize: Marshtomp use Rock Smash with your right arm to break the ice!
Marshtomp break free the frozen arm with Rock Smash.
Yin: Tch! Croconaw Crunch!
Rize: Marshtomp Mud Bomb!
Marshtomp unleashed a close range Mud Bomb when Croconaw is charging to Marshtomp and knocked it out.
Rize: I guess you still have to train harder..
Yin: Damn it! You only won because my Pokemon is weak! I hate the weak! People! Pokemon! You are no exception!
Yin dashed away and left Rize and Schumi instantly.
Schumi: He's weak! And you have quite a hard time with that brat, so after all this time you only improved this much?
Rize: What?! How many badges do you have now anyway?! I already got 4!
Schumi: I got 6 already and now I'm going to Mahogany Town to get my 7th badge. Make sure you train hard even tough it will be useless against me..
Rize: How arrogant!
Rize have defeated Yin once again but he still have unfinished matter to settle with his oldest and strongest rival Schumi! Will he be able to beat Schumi?!

Chapter 72 - Legend of Ecruteak and the Burned Tower!

The next day after getting the Jr.Fog Badge, Rize plan to leave Ecruteak City and head to Olivine Town the town where he first set foot on Johto to battle the gym there. However the tall tower of Ecruteak City make him curious of what is it and make him want to visit the tower.
Guard: I'm sorry young kid! Only authorized people can go into the Tin Tower! I'm sorry but you will have to leave!
Rize: Can't tourist come and look around?? This is getting on my nerve!
Guard: This is a sacred place where the mighty Ho-oh once live in the past! Now leave already!
Rize: Fine! Who is this arrogant Ho-oh anyway?
Rize failed to visit the Tin Tower but there are 2 tower in Ecruteak City and he decided to went there.
Rize: So this is the Burned Tower? This one is abandoned and no need to be guarded huh? There might be nothing here but it's worth to check!
So Rize went inside the Burned Tower.

Man: Young kid! What brings you here? It's very rare for kids your age to come to place like this.
Rize: I'm just checking around.. who are you? and what are you doing here yourself here anyway?

Morty: I am Morty the Gym Leader in charge of Ecruteak City! I'm here accompanying my friend who have been researching and looking for the Legendary Pokemon that was born in this place!
Rize: Legendary Pokemon was born in this place?! What kind of Legendary Pokemon that born here?
Schumi: The Legendary Pokemon Entei, Raikou and Suicune!
Rize: Schumi?! Since when are you here?!
Morty: More kids shown up..
Schumi: I met with Raikou on my way to this city at route 38 so i decided to investigate on this Burned Tower and their legend more.
Morty: You met with Raikou??!!
Rize checked on his Pokedex of Raikou.

" Raikou the Thunder Pokemon. It is an Electric type. Raikou is said to have fallen with lightning. It can fire thunderbolts from the rain clouds on its back at will. "

Rize: So this is Raikou.. I met with a similar Pokemon like this but it's red in colour! I met with it at route 37 and since I don't know what's its name and it quickly ran off I couldn't scan it with the Pokedex.
Morty: Red colour? It could be Entei! Check with your Pokedex and type in Entei!
Rize type in Entei into its Pokedex entry.

" Entei the Volcano Pokemon. It is a Fire type. It is said that when it roars, a volcano erupts somewhere around the globe. "

Rize: Yes! This is the Pokemon I saw that time!!

Eusine: Amazing!! You kids have seen the Legendary Pokemon live with your eyes!! But the Legendary I've been searching for in 10 years is not those two but the other one of the trio which is Suicune! It is fast elegant and graceful! Beautiful and can't be described by words! It is so beautiful when it walk on water!
Rize checked Suicune in its Pokedex.

" Suicune the Aurora Pokemon. It is a Water type. It can instantly purify filthy, murky water. It is said that north winds will somehow blow whenever this Pokemon appears. "

Morty: I too have been looking for a Legendary Pokemon that once lived in this City. It's the mighty Ho-oh!
Rize: Oh yea! I tried to go to the Tin Tower before coming here and the guard mention about this Ho-oh! I thought it was somekind of arrogant human at first, so it's a Legendary Pokemon.. I wonder how it looks like.. let's check with the Pokedex.
Rize checked for Ho-oh in the Pokedex this time and..

" Ho-oh the Rainbow Pokemon. It is a Fire and Flying type. Legend claim this Pokemon flies the world's skies continuously on its magnificent, seven coloured wings. It is said that anyone seeing it is promised eternal happiness. "

Rize: This Pokemon!! I saw this rainbow coloured bird flying on the sky making rainbow when I first came to Johto by Ship!!

Morty: What?! You saw Ho-oh!! I don't believe it! You must be making up your story!
Rize: But it's true! What for do I tell lies?!
Schumi: Anyway why is Ho-oh not living at the Tin Tower anymore now?
Morty: That's the answer I've been seeking for for the past 10 years as well!
Rize learned alot about the Legend of Johto and Ecruteak City, will he be able to meet Ho-oh again and prove to Morty that he really saw Ho-oh? More legends is about to unfold as his journey continues..

Chapter 71 - Ecruteak City Gym Battle!

Rize have finally arrived at Ecruteak City after spending days travelling from route 35 to route 37 and as usual, first stop is the Pokemon Gym!
Referee: The Gym Battle between Rize the challenger and Morph the Jr.Gym Leader is about to begin! It's a 1 on 1 battle! Trainers begin!
Morph: Misdreavus! Scare them all!

Rize checked his Pokedex on Misdreavus.

" Misdreavus the Screech Pokemon. It is a Ghost type. Misdreavus loves to sneak up on people late at night, then startle them with its shrieklike cry. "

Rize: I'm not scared of your Ghost Pokemon! Aipom let's go! Your Ghost Pokemon can't inflict any damage to my Normal type Aipom!
Morph: So do your Aipom can't hurt my Misdreavus as well!
Rize: For me it's a different case! Aipom Shadow Claw!
Aipom used Shadow Claw and it's super effective!
Morph: So that's your strategy..
Rize: I taught my Aipom this move so that we can defeat this Gym! Aipom another Shadow Claw!
Aipom once again hit Misdreavus with Shadow Claw.
Morph: Misdreavus use Pain Split!
Misdreavus charged into Aipom and share its damage and Aipom looks terribly injured.
Rize: What?!
Morph: My Misdreavus shared its pain with your healthy Aipom and my Misdreavus also took some HP from your Aipom. Misdreavus Confuse Ray!
Misdreavus used Confuse Ray on Aipom and Aipom is confused.
Morph: Hahaha! You're done for now!
Rize: "Damn! This is why the battle is only 1 on 1!" Aipom snap out of it and use Shadow Claw!
Aipom is totally confused and hurt itself instead.
Morph: Haha! We'll just sit here and wait till your Aipom finish itself.
Aipom keep on hurting itself but Rize Soothe Bell ring as it is shaken by Rize movement and Aipom was snapped out of its confusion. The Soothe Bell was put at the zipper of Rize bag.
Morph: What?! Impossible! How could it?!
Rize: Aipom quick use Shadow Claw!!
Aipom use Shadow Claw with a very hard clean hit which resulting in a critical hit and knocked down Misdreavus.
Referee: Misdreavus is unable to battle! Aipom wins! The challenger Rize is the winner!!
Morph: I guess I take you too lightly, here take the Jr.Fog Badge.

Rize have finally defeated Ecruteak Gym and there's only 4 more Gyms to go in Johto!

Chapter 70 - Bug Catching Contest in the National Park!

After participating in the Pokeathlon competition, Rize continued on his journey and this time he is now at the National Park. A very peaceful and beautiful place where people and Pokemon can relax and stroll enjoying the nature. Rize decided to take a stroll with all his Pokemon playing and enjoying the nature together with beautiful cheerful music from the Pokegear Radio.
Rize: Isn't the weather great today guys! The music really fits the environment too!
Suddenly a loud voice of siren can be heard.
Siren Voice: Attention to all Trainers! Today is Thursday and that means it's the Bug Catching Contest! It will be held at 4:00 PM. For those who want to participate please register now as registration will close at 3:00 PM, Thank you!
Rize: Bug Catching Contest? Sounds cool! Let's give it a try! I don't have any Bug type Pokemon either!
Rize decided to participate in the contest and registered.
People in crowd: Hey look it's Bugsy the Bug specialist Gym Leader from Azalea Town! Is he participating today? Oh my! I won't be able to make it if he participate today! Was wes wos..

Rize: " Bugsy? Gym Leader? Who cares.. He looks weak and I even hardly tell wether he's a man or a woman. I'm still going to win!"
FeiChong: Rize you're participating in this contest?!
Rize: FeiChong! Are you always everywhere when there is Bug Pokemon??
Announcer: You will be given 1 Park Ball and catch 1 Bug Pokemon in 30 minutes. After the time ends we will gather around and do a classification which Trainer have caught the best Bug type! At the end of the contest you can keep the Pokemon and put the Pokemon in your own Pokeballs. Now Trainers ready? Contest begin! Good luck to all of you for the next 30 minutes!!
Rize: Bug Pokemon... Where are you...
Bugsy: There's a way to look for Bug Pokemon faster and easier, I sliced honey on this tree and Bug Pokemon will start gathering here to eat the honey!
After afew momment, lots of Bug Pokemon began to swarm on to the tree with the honey.


Rize: " He's really an expert in catching Bug Pokemon!" What are you waiting for? Aren't you gonna catch any 1 of them or are you waiting for them to finish eating?
Bugsy: Nope.. The one I want is not here yet..
Suddenly a big strong Bug Pokemon fly towards the tree and drive all the other Bug Pokemon away so that it is eating the honey alone. The other Bug Pokemon also seems to be affraid to be on its way.

Rize: Wow! What's that?! All the other Bug Pokemon even make way for it! It must be the ruler here or something! (Rize checked on his Pokedex)

" Heracross the Singlehorn Pokemon. It is a Bug and Fighting type. It loves sweet honey. To keep all the honey to itself, it hurls rivals away with its prized horn. "

Bugsy: Yes Heracross! I've been waiting for you! Now you're going to be mine!
Rize: No way! I'm catching this Heracross!
Bugsy: I'm the one who lured it here! It's mine!
Rize: No such thing as that! Anybody is free to catch whichever Pokemon!
Rize threwed a stone to the Heracross who is happily enjoying the honey and was mocked by the stone as it is disturbed. It went on rampage!
The Pokedex began to speak by itself and told further information about Heracross.

" It is usually docile, but if it is disturbed while sipping honey, it chases off its intruder with its horn. "

Bugsy: What have you done?! Look you've made it difficult to capture!
The Heracross attacked Bugsy and Rize.
Bugsy: Here it comes! Park Ball go!
Bugsy threw the Park Ball to Heracross but Heracross slap back the Park Ball back to Bugsy!
Bugsy: Damn! It's all your fault! Now how are you going to catch it yourself?
Rize: Hm hm hm~.. Park Ball go!
This time Rize threw his Park Ball to Heracross but Heracross didn't slap it but instead catches it and was absorbed into the Park Ball and captured.
Bugsy: How?! How did you do that??!!
Rize: Heheheh... I polished the Park Ball and even the inside of it with your honey while you're busy with the Heracross. The Heracross must have smelled the honey from the Park Ball and that's why it went in by itself..
Bugsy: What the?! You thief!! " I didn't even know that's possible!"
Announcer: Time's up! Everyone please gather at the front of the gate.
For today's Bug Catching Contest! We have Rize who captured the Heracross who was the ruler of all Bug Pokemon in the National Park as the winner!! And he is awarded with the Soothe Bell! Let's all give him around of applause!
FeiChong: No wayyy!!! How could my splendid Yanma lost!! And how did Bugsy even lost to him!!
Rize: Yeah! Welcome to my team Heracross!!
However, the Heracross seems to be not friendly to Rize and ignored Rize. Is there anything wrong with the newly caught Heracross??

Chapter 69 - Pokeathlon!

After defeating the Gym Leader in Golden Rod City, Rize went to the famous Radio Tower of Johto in Golden Rod City.
Rize: Yes! Now my Pokegear have the radio application! I can tune into the radio and listen to music anywhere I want!
He then continued his journey to route 35 and met with someone unexpected.
Rize: Jin! We meet again!
Jin: Hey Rize! Are you going to the Pokeathlon Dome too?
Rize: Pokeathlon Dome? What's that?
Jin: You don't know? Come with me then!
Jin brought Rize to the Pokeathlon Dome which was also connected with the National Park.


Jin: This is the Pokeathlon Dome! This is the place where Trainers and their Pokemon compete together in sports as an Athlete. In other words! This is the place if you want to become the Pokemon Athlete!
Rize: Pokemon Athlete? Never heard of it! But cool! Can I give a try?
Jin: Ofcourse you can! I'm coming here to try too!
???: Well Goodluck to both of you then!

Jin: Wow! Whitney of the Golden Rod Gym! I heard that not only she's an exellent Gym Leader but also an exellent Athlete!
Whitney: So which category are you kids going to compete?
Jin: Rize let's compete in the Power category if you don't mind! We'll see whose Pokemon is stronger base on power and strength!
Rize: Bring it on!
Whitney: The Power category not only test on your Pokemon's power and strength but also in its endurance as well! For your age category you will be given a set of 10 brick plates and your Pokemon have to destroy as many sets of 10 brick plates in 1 minute! Those who destroyed the most is the winner! The Trainers have to help setting the brick plates too! So this is a teamwork between Trainers and Pokemon therefore Trainers who focus on this was called an Athlete instead of Trainers.
Jin: Cool! Can't wait for it!
Rize and Jin registered for the Pokeathlon power category and it is tomorrow noon.
Meanwhile at night..
Rize: Marshtomp let's practice! We'll definitely going to win with your power and Rock Smash attack!
Just when Rize was practicing with Marshtomp, the Pokemon Egg Rize received from the Day Care Lady appear to be hatching and a strong looking Pokemon is born from it.

Rize checked his Pokedex.

" Tyrogue the Scuffle Pokemon. It is a Fighting type. It is always bursting with energy. To make itself stronger, it keeps on fighting even if loses. "

Rize: Cool! Tyrouge a Fighting type Pokemon! What perfect timing! Welcome to my team Tyrogue!
The next day, the Pokeathlon competition is finally starting and there was 5 participants for each competition is held.
Judge: Allright Athletes!! Get your Pokemon and yourself ready as we will begin the competition very soon!
Rize: Tyrouge ready! Let's do it like last night! I'm counting on you!
Jin: Sudowoodo let's win the medal!

Rize: " That's Jin's new Pokemon? " Rize checked on his Pokedex.

" Sudowoodo the Imitation Pokemon. It is a Rock type. Altough it always pretends to be a tree, its composition appears more similar to rock than to vegetation. "

Judge: Athletes begin!!
Rize: Tyrogue Rock Smash! let's destroy them all in 2 hits!
Jin: Sudowoodo let's destroy them all in 1 clean hit! Brick Break!
Rize: What!? 1 hit?! Brick Break?! "Tch no time to worry on others! Focus on our own tasks!"

Rize: 1 more hit!

Judgel: Ok Athletes and Pokemon stop right there or you will be eliminated! We will begin to count on the destroyed brick plates now.

Judge: Allright we have the winner! The winner is Jin with a score of 120+10 leading points! A total of 130 points! and 2nd we got Rize with a score of 60+20 effort points! A total of 80 points! That's quite a gap between  the 1st and the 2nd, next for the 3rd we have...
Rize: We didn't make it Tyrogue but you're great!
Jin: Haha! My Pokemon is stronger than yours Rize!
Rize: This Tyrogue just hatched from its egg yesterday, its natural that it can't compete with your strong Sudowoodo.
Jin: Hahaha! Whatever I'm still the winner.
Rize: Yeah! Congratulations Jin!
Whitney: Congratulations Jin! Remember Pokemon and Trainers/Athletes have to grow strong together! Trainers have to train as well not just the Pokemon!
Rize&Jin: Yes!!
Whitney: Jin maybe you can be the Champion in Pokeathlon! Hehe..
Judge: And we award Jin with the Bronze Power Medal! Let's all give a round of applause for our winner this time!
So Rize lost to Jin in the Pokeathlon Power category competition but that doesn't bring him down, instead he got a new member on his team that is very strong ready for battles! Next Gym is in Ecruteak City! Stay tune!

Chapter 68 - Golden Rod Gym Battle!

Rize have arrived on Golden  Rod City and the next day he went to the Gym and challenge the Gym Leader for the Badge!
Referee: The Gym Battle between  Rize the challenger and Weasley the Jr.Gym Leader is about to begin! It's a 3 on 3 Pokemon Battle and only the challenger is allowed to make substitution!
Weasley: Snubbull go!

" Snubbull the Fairy Pokemon. A normal type. Altough it looks frightening, it is actually kind and affectionate. It is popular among women. "

Rize: I'll fight Normal with Normal! Aipom let's go!
Referee: Begin!
Weasley: Snubbull Bite attack!
Rize: Too slow! Aipom dodge and use Scratch!
Aipom dodged the Bite attack and attacked with Scratch attack.
Weasley: We gotta slow its speed down! Scary Face!
Aipom's speed movement was lowered due to Scary Face!
Weasley: Bite attack!
This time Bite lands a clean hit to Aipom.
Rize: Aipom use Swift!
Aipom used Swift and Snubbull was knocked out.
Referee: Snubbull is unable to battle! Aipom wins!
Weasley: Try this one! Teddiursa go!

" Teddiursa the Little Bear Pokemon. A normal type. Teddiursa lets honey soak into its paws so it can lick them all the time. Every set of paws taste unique."

Rize: " What a useless information.. " I really don't understand why you guys Normal type user really like to use cute Pokemon like this, Aipom use Scratch!
Weasley: Teddiursa use Fake Tears!
The Teddiursa begin to cry out loudly and Aipom stop its attack due to symphaty.
Rize: Aipom that's just a trick! Go and attack!
Weasley: Teddiursa Swift attack now!
Aipom was knocked out by Teddiursa's Swift attack.
Referee: Aipom is unable to battle! Teddiursa wins!
Rize: Hoothoot! go!
Weasley: That won't change a thing! Teddiursa Fake Tears!
Rize: Hoothoot ignored it and use Hypnosis!!
Hoothoot ignored Teddiursa and used Hypnosis and Teddiursa is in a deep sleep.
Weasley: Teddiursa no! Wake up!
Rize: Hoothoot go finish it! Peck Attack!
Hoothoot keep on pecking on Teddiursa untill it is unable to battle.
Referee: Teddiursa is unable to battle! Hoothoot wins!
Weasley: Taste this one! Girafarig!

" Girafarig the Long Neck Pokemon. It is a Normal and Psychic type. Girafarig's tail has a small brain. It bites to repel any foe trying to sneak up on it from behind. While it sleeps, the head on its tail keep watch. The tail don't need to sleep. "

Rize: Still won't make a difference! Hoothoot again! Hypnosis!
Hoothoot put Girafarig to sleep under its Hypnosis attack.
Rize: Now Peck till it finish!
Hoothoot keep on pecking on Girafarig but Girafarig woke up from its sleep.
Weasley: Allright Psybeam now!
Referee: Hoothoot is unable to battle! Girafarig wins!
Weasley: I don't ony have cute Pokemon but strong too! My Girafarig's abillity is early bird so it can wake up earlier during sleep condition!
Rize: Not bad.. Marshtomp go! You're finish now!
Weasley: We'll see about that! "Ugh what Pokemon is that?!" Girafarig use Stomp!
