Afew days have passed since the incident at Prof.Elm's Lab and Rize have now arrived in Violet City where he can have his first Johto Gym Battle!
Referee: The Gym Battle between Rize from Hoenn the challenger and Valkry the Junior Gym Leader is about to begin! It's a 2 on 2 battle and only the challenger is allowed to make substitution!

Hoothoot was hit with Confusion.
Rize: So you finally have show your psychic power huh? Well then, Hoothoot Hypnosis!
Natu fell asleep due to Hoothoot's Hypnosis.
Valkry: What?!
Rize: Peck attack!
Hoothoot keep pecking Natu untill it faint.
Referee: Natu fainted! Hoothoot is the winner!
Valkry: Haha! Now this is getting interesting! Noctowl let's teach them a lesson!

Rize checked Nowtowl with his Pokedex.

Rize: Oh ou.. Noctowl! Nah! It doesn't matter as long as I do this! Hoothoot Hypnosis!
The noctowl took the Hypnosis attack but it is not affected.

Noctowl dodged the Ice Beam attack but it didn't completely dodged and its wing tips is frozen.
Valkry: What a surprise! So it's an Ice Type! Noctowl Steel Wing!
Marshtomp grabbed Noctowl's Steel Wing attack.

Rize: Haha! It's a Water and Ground Type Pokemon! Marshtomp Ice Beam right on its face now!
